About FIDA

We provide resources to communities in Haiti who are motivated to advance themselves economically by forming productive agricultural co-operatives.

Founded in 1984 by Jack and Anne Wall, FIDA is a fully registered Canadian charitable organization (Canadian BN 13365 2768 RR0001).

FIDA-USA is an independent 501(c) 3 non-profit organization (US EIN # 47-2300976).

FIDA’s working arm in Haiti is called productive cooperatives Haiti (pcH) and it is a fully registered Haitian non-government organization (#B0307).

Mission Statement

We believe in the inherent right for every person to own self-respect and to know self-worth.

We believe that dignity is achieved through a cultivated ability to provide for ourselves, our family, and our fellow people.

We endeavour to encourage self-sufficiency in Haiti; to work at the grassroots level to introduce appropriate technology and training; to bring hope, encouragement and resources to help communities work out solutions to their adversities.
